Real-Time Traffic Signal Timing for Urban Road Multi-Intersection

چکیده
Abstract—this paper develops a real-time traffic signal timing model which is to be integrated into a single intersection for urban road, thereby solving the problem of traffic congestion. We analyze the current situation of the traffic flow with release matrix firstly, and then put forward the basic models to minimize total delay time of vehicles at the intersection. The optimal real-time signal timing model (non-fixed cycle and non-fixed split) is built with the Webster split optimal model. At last, the simulated results, which are compared with conventional model, manifest the promising properties of proposed model.this paper develops a real-time traffic signal timing model which is to be integrated into a single intersection for urban road, thereby solving the problem of traffic congestion. A Study of Signal Timing Fuzzy Control Based on the Collaborative Strategy of Road Green Wave Effect and Path Selection Entropy
With the growth of urban road traffic volume and the increase of road network density, correlation between adjacent road intersections is becoming more and more obvious. An intersection traffic signal adjustment tends to affect the smooth traffic flow of a number of adjacent intersections. Its congestion may gradually spread to a few blocks and regions all around the intersection. Therefore, in...
متن کاملOptimal Signal Control in Urban Road Networks with High Priority Congested Centers
Keeping the density of traffic flow and air pollution in an acceptable level and developing a good capacity for transit in the high priority areas of the city, is really a big deal in large and crowded cities. To address this problem, a new method of intersection signal optimization is presented in this paper. Based on network fundamental diagrams, an Internal–External Traffic Metering Strategy...
متن کاملSmart Urban Signal Networks: Initial Application of the SURTRAC Adaptive Traffic Signal Control System
In this paper, we describe a pilot implementation and field test of a recently developed approach to real-time adaptive traffic signal control. The pilot system, called SURTRAC (Scalable Urban Traffic Control), follows the perspective of recent work in multi-agent planning and implements a decentralized, schedule-driven approach to traffic signal control. Under this approach, each intersection ...
متن کاملReal-Time Stochastic Optimum Control of Traffic Signals
In accordance with the increase of vehicles recently, traffic congestion has become a serious problem. In urban areas, almost all traffic congestion occurs at intersections. Intersections can be classified into three types according to the number of roads meeting at the intersection: T-junction (3-way intersection), Crossroads (4-way intersection), and Multi-way intersection (more than 4 ways)....
متن کاملDeveloping an Analytical Model and Simulation of The Contraflow Left-Turn Lane at Signalized Intersections
At some intersections, excessive queue lengths may spill out of the left-turn bay and block the through lanes, jeopardizing level of service for the entire intersection. One of the most effective plans recently presented by the researchers is the "Contraflow left-turn lane" (CLL) In this method, left-turn vehicles will use the nearest lane in the opposite direction in addition to the usual left...
